Javier Burciaga is an introspective independent thinker who values family and friendship above personal gain. He was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois where he was taught and influenced by highly acclaimed architects and designers that led him to become the dedicated architect & interior designer that he is at present.

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in romance language linguistics from DePaul University’s department of Letters and Sciences with a primary specialty in Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese before earning his master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. He offers +25 years of professional experience in architecture and interior design, construction practices & procedures, construction administration, and project management on multi-million dollar commercial and residential developments.

His versatile design experience in various commercial projects such as ultra luxury high-end and mixed-use residential projects include large scale hospitality developments of recognized notoriety. He also specialized in restaurant and retail design which include boutique niches such as high-end entertainment night clubs and exclusive dining venues known throughout Chicagoland and other world-class cities. Javier has also excelled in providing a full range of interior design services such as programming, budgeting, finishes & furniture and equipment selections, space planning and all phases of design & construction from concept inception through full execution.

His expertise also boasts manufacturing and production experience in thermodynamic equipment design as well as production and personnel management to include complete logistics and purchasing oversight where he designed and innovated various food processing plant design concepts in Latin America in concert with French and Dutch designers. His versatility, diverse experience, conscientious project delivery and attentiveness to detail makes him a valued addition to Sisters Interiors’ staff portfolio.
